Pretty slimmed down crew…myself, an assistant and two talent. As much as I love the perks and comfort of a full blown production and crew…it’s super nice to roll with a small and nimble skeleton crew. We shot two days of stills and one day of motion. Our talented poncho wearin’ pal, Hunter Richards came out to lend a hand as Director of Photography. Our weather was unpredictable…snow, hail and rain. We received a fine dose of it all! Though I can’t share any of our assets from the shoot…I can pass along this shot we snapped along our hike up Saddle Mountain. Hope you all are enjoying spring…get out there!

I was super stoked when I heard that a group was forming to create a bid to bring the X Games to Detroit. Much of my youth was spent skateboarding through the streets of Detroit…love to see an event like this bring some life and good press back to my hometown. Lots of great folks involved in the project. Andreas Eriksson of Ford Racing brought some serious shit to the streets of Detroit. One of the cooler things i’ve seen cruise down Woodward Ave (Tied with the ’97 Wings Stanley Cup parade). We approached our friends & team over at Chaco with a pitch to shoot a few lifestyle videos based around the launch of their 2013 Spring Line. Initially we wanted to create three videos that were based solely around the visual images of the product in use in its surrounding. Our goal was to let the emotion and action of the subjects, along with the natural beauty of the location tell the story of the new line. In the end, the decision was made to add a voice over to aid in telling the story. We brought in our good friend, the talented/hot dog lovin’ Hunter Richards as our lead cinematographer. A fun project with a rad crew and client! See YOU in the Chacosphere!

Grabbed an hour or two of sleep then hopped in the rig for a trip out to Port Huron, MI to meet up with JoAnne Sloat…an amazing mother of three and Ironman competitor that has overcome a horrific car accident and now is prepared to take on the USA Triathalon Championship this fall. We flew into Boise and drove about an hour and a half to the South Fork of the Payette River. Both Haley and Mike shred super hard, both in kayak and on the stand ups. We ended the trip by hitting a surf wave (on the river). Super epic. Wow- The last month has been a blast. Couple of alltime outdoor campaigns are in the bag for a Spring 13 release. Really looking forward to sharing some of the results online. We will be popping back on the road this week to head to Salt Lake City to support our friends Osprey Packs and Chaco footwear at this years Outdoor Retailer show. We would be stoked to meet up with some fellow creatives as well as some new outdoor/adventure companies. Give us a yell if you’re around – drinks on us!
