Brooks - Hyperion Elite 5

overview
This past March, the AMP crew traveled to Albuquerque, NM to collaborate with Brooks Running and Stept Studios on the SS25 launch of the Hyperion Elite 5, Brooks’ flagship race shoe. The campaign featured Brooks Beasts athlete Josh Kerr, and walking onto set felt instantly familiar, almost exactly a year after our last shoot together in the same city. That existing rapport set the tone from the start. Despite his Olympic accolades and global recognition, Josh is remarkably grounded and genuinely stoked to put in the work, making him the perfect athlete to anchor this story. Given the lineage of the Hyperion Elite, precision was everything. Josh thrives when he can open up over longer distances, so production deployed a Grip Trix electric camera car with a boom arm and gimbal for full 360° tracking. We mounted our stills camera directly to the rig to capture photo and motion simultaneously, while a B-unit tracked Josh from the ground on rollerblades. Across eight hours on set, we maximized every window, experimenting with in-camera and analog techniques to give the imagery added edge and presence aligned with Brooks’ performance-driven brand.
